Washington, D.C. — November 13, 2025 (1:00 p.m.)

After forty long days of political grandstanding, President Donald J. Trump has done what career politicians in Washington could not: reopen the government, restore confidence to the American people, and remind the nation that leadership is about results, not rhetoric. The House of Representatives and the Senate have finally passed the same continuing resolution that Democrats rejected over a month ago — a bill they themselves had voted for fourteen times over the past three years.

As President Trump bluntly stated in his remarks from the White House, “They got nothing. No concessions. Not one change.” It was, in effect, a total capitulation by Democratic leadership, who wasted over a month of the nation’s time only to end up right back where they started. The standoff caused unnecessary pain to American taxpayers and federal workers, disrupted travel, and created chaos in airports — all to achieve absolutely nothing.

The President’s calm, steady hand throughout the ordeal stood in sharp contrast to the political theatrics on Capitol Hill. While Democrats were busy staging press conferences and trading barbs on cable news, President Trump stayed focused on governing — traveling across the globe and securing deals that will benefit American workers for years to come.

During this same period, he negotiated a multi-billion-dollar rare-earth mineral agreement with Australia, expanded LNG and energy trade with Malaysia and Japan, and brought home commitments totaling more than $500 billion in foreign investment. His leadership not only stabilized international markets but positioned the United States as the world’s most reliable economic partner. While Washington was gridlocked, Trump was opening doors, forging alliances, and building prosperity.

Within days, the government will return to full capacity. Federal workers will receive their back pay, agencies will resume normal operations, and airports will return to pre-shutdown efficiency. Airline executives have already reported that staffing and scheduling will normalize within a week — a testament to swift coordination between the White House and the Department of Transportation.

What is most revealing about this episode is how easily the opposition’s narrative collapsed under its own weight. Democrats claimed they were standing on principle, yet in the end, they voted for the exact same continuing resolution they had demonized just forty days prior. The contrast could not be clearer: President Trump governs; Democrats perform antics and gaslight America.

In reopening the government, President Trump not only delivered for the American people but reaffirmed the power of perseverance and political courage. Washington may play games, but Trump plays to win — and this time, he won decisively.
