In a stirring display of the American spirit, President Trump stood in the East Room of the White House today to recognize three U.S. Army soldiers with the Medal of Honor. The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the price of freedom, occurring just as the U.S. enters its third day of Operation Epic Fury against the Iranian regime.

“This was our last best chance to strike,” the President declared, pivoting from the stories of past heroism to the current mission in the Gulf. “We are eliminating the intolerable threats posed by this sick and sinister regime.”

Honoring the "Best of America"

The President awarded the nation’s highest military honor to three men whose stories span decades of American resolve:

  • Retired Command Sgt. Maj. Terry P. Richardson: Recognized for saving 85 fellow soldiers during a reconnaissance mission in Vietnam

    .

  • Staff Sgt. Michael H. Ollis (Posthumous): A 24-year-old hero who gave his life in Afghanistan in 2013, shielding a Polish officer from a suicide bomber.

  • Master Sgt. Roderick W. Edmonds (Posthumous): A WWII POW who famously told a German commandant, "We are all Jews here," saving 200 Jewish-American soldiers from execution.

The President noted that the "ferocious, unyielding resolve" of these men is the same DNA found in the troops currently dismantling the Iranian war machine.

Iran Update: "Way Ahead of Schedule"

While the atmosphere was one of solemn tribute, the President provided a critical update on the strikes. Confirming the death of 49 senior Iranian regime leaders in just the first 48 hours, Trump noted that the operation is moving "way ahead of schedule."

“We figured it would take at least four weeks to achieve what we did in one day,” Trump told reporters. He reiterated the four core objectives of the mission:

  1. Total destruction of Iran’s missile capabilities.

  2. Annihilation of the Iranian Navy (with 10 ships now confirmed at the bottom of the sea).

  3. Permanent prevention of a nuclear-armed Iran.

  4. Cutting the lifeline to terrorist proxies across the region.

The Ultimate Sacrifice

The President did not shy away from the reality of the current conflict, acknowledging the four American service members killed since Saturday. “In their memory, we continue this mission with ferocious resolve,” he said. While he projected the campaign could conclude in four to five weeks, he made it clear that the U.S. has the "capability to go far longer" to ensure a total victory.

The DiMauro Verdict

Today’s ceremony was more than a tradition; it was a message to the world. By honoring the heroes of the past while directing the destruction of our enemies in the present, President Trump is making it clear: America will always protect its own, and we will never again allow a "sick and sinister" regime to threaten our beautiful homeland.
